Lee Bennett of Madison, SD has been selected to participate in the 2006 20X Extreme Showcase Rodeo that will be held at the 2006 Black Hills Stock Show in Rapid City, SD in January. South Dakota high school rodeo competitors who had finished top of their events at their regional high school rodeos during the 2005 High School Rodeo season were invited. Each competitor will get a Wrangler 20X shirt, a gift certificate for Wrangler jeans, a commemorative event pin made by Landstrom's Black Hills Gold and Silver Jewelry, and leather gloves from Dodge. High school senior competitors will be eligible for four college scholarships that will be awarded.  The rodeo will be giving a Ralph Maynard Trophy buckle in each event and awards will also be given for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places also. Organizers of the event said that the rodeo will showcase the great talent found in the SD High School Rodeo ranks as well as allow the SDHSR athletes to compete in the same arena as the PRCA World Champions and SD rodeo heroes.

Bennett and his team roping partner, Mikey Loiseau of Egan, SD qualified for the state finals high school rodeo and the state finals 4-H rodeo earlier this summer.

Riding a 5-year old Appaloosa gelding, Ima Zip Code Too (Sonic), Bennett competed at the Appaloosa Youth World Show in Oklahoma City in July 2005, earning two reserve championships and placing 3rd in a third event.
